MaxMixtureKernels

MaxMixtureKernels

is an option for SmoothKernelDistribution and related functions that specifies the maximum number and location of kernel functions to use in the estimation.

Details

  • The following settings can be given for MaxMixtureKernels:
  • Automaticautomatically place number of kernels
Allplace a kernel at all data points
    nuse uniformly spaced kernels
    {spec1,spec2,}use spec1, spec2, in different dimensions
  • MaxMixtureKernels specifies the initial number and placement of kernels to use in a density estimation. Kernels with zero weights from the estimation are not used in the final result.
