Enter Free-Form Input

Enter entities and other computable expressions using natural language.

You do not have to know precise Wolfram Language syntax to enter computable input. Many expressions can be entered “free-form”, using natural language.

Get a free-form input box

To enter free-form input, choose Insert ▶ Inline Free-form Input (on desktop) or type :

Enter natural language input

Type what you want in the input box using natural language and press . The formatting of the input box changes when the natural language input has been interpreted:

  • You must have a network connection to use free-form input.

Choose the interpretation

To accept an interpretation, click the check mark:

To choose a different interpretation, click the ellipsis and choose an alternative:
