ProcessDirectory

is an option specifying the initial working directory to use when executing a process in functions like StartProcess and RunProcess.

Details

  • With the default setting ProcessDirectory->Inherited, the subprocess will inherit its initial directory from the current working directory Directory[] of the Wolfram Engine that calls it.

On Unix systems like Mac OS and Linux, this runs the ls process in the installation directory to list the contents of that directory:
