AudioPan

AudioPan[audio]

returns a center-panned stereo audio object from a mono audio.

AudioPan[audio,pan]

returns a stereo audio object after panning left and right channels using the specified pan.

AudioPan[video,…]

pans the first audio track in video.

Details

  • AudioPan works only with mono and stereo audio objects.
  • The panning parameter pan can be a scalar value between and , a Quantity, an Audio object, a TimeSeries, or a pure function.
  • AudioPan uses sinusoidal panning.
  • AudioPan returns an audio object of a real type.

AudioPan uses a sinusoidal panning algorithm to keep the sum of the powers of the output channels constant:

With a mono input, AudioPan duplicates the signal on the two output channels, and the pan parameter controls the left–right balance of the resulting audio object:

In the case of a stereo input, pan controls the relative levels of the two channels without any mixing:

On a stereo audio object, AudioPan[audio] or AudioPan[audio,0] does not modify the input.
